Chef Bryan is a native of Southern California. His love for cooking started in the kitchens of both his Grandmother BB and his Mother Sheila. With his grandmother's down-home style of cooking and his mother's love for baking it was destined that cooking was in his blood.Chef Bryan received his first cooking lessons from his late Grandmother. Preparing meals was always her passion. She received great joy watching the family gather around the dining room table to enjoy the food that she had prepared. When her eldest daughter Sheila caught the baking bug at 10 years old, she instantly won the hearts of whoever tasted her cakes.
After a corporate downsizing at the company where he worked, Bryan then decided to grab the torch and followed his childhood passion by enrolling in the Culinary Arts program at Los Angeles Trade Technical Community College. Yet, his journey in the professional kitchen began long prior to his attending school, and in fact as a teen he washed pots and pans at the West Angeles C.O.G.I.C and over the course of a decade worked his way up to Assistant Chef where he regularly prepares large scale meals for Sunday dinner service, repasts, and special events.
Graduating in 2007 from LATTCC, Chef Bryan began catering special events for his then employer, Neutrogena. The following year,Catering By Bryan was launched. Now, only a few years have passed and Chef Bryan is cooking for his pastor, Bishop Charles E. Blake and celebrities like Stevie Wonder, Chris Tucker, The Clark Sisters, Ledisi, Kelly Price, Donnie McClurkin, and Gladys Knight just to name a few.
Chef Bryan strives for excellence and to bring smiles back to peoples face when they taste his mouth watering, lip smacking, toe tapping soul food. His goal is to make his clients feel like they are family and to make food the way "Grandma used to make."
